Hello

For those who couldn't attend the AGM, you'll have missed 30 people stepping back whilst I was jet-lagged as your next President. Following in the esteemed footsteps of Euan, Steve, Phil, Gareth & many others.

I thought I'd use to the newsletter to introduce myself to those don't know me, and to explain what the role entails.

I first rode with ERC sometime in about 1998 when I first moved to Edinburgh, but became a member (probably) around 2010 when my boys took up cycling (& I would do the old 9.40s). Since then I've had a go at quite a few club activities, the rare Team GB ride, the 9.45s, club audax rides, coaching with youth section, some TTs, taken a junior team to Junior Tour of Ireland, holding Red flags ar races, there was even a time when I tried the Tri swim sessions. I've enjoyed (most) of it, and met some fantastic people.

There was a somewhat out of date role description on the website, I think it was probably left over from Gareth's day, but we've updated a bit https://edinburghrc.co.uk/abou....

I aim to create a view of 'where we'd like to be' as a club in 3 years time, and what needs to happen to achieve that over the next few months. Any suggestions (or offers of help) gratefully received, easiest to email me at president@edinburghrc.co.uk. Hope is to be both ambitous and realistic...but that may not be realistic.
