NSR is the first stage of the British Cycling Development Pathway at national level, for the top second-year Under 16 riders in the UK. The Pathway starts with club Go Ride sessions and moves up through Scottish Cycling clusters and then the Scottish Cycling RACE National and RACE+ programmes.
Micah, Izzy and Andrew’s selection recognises their results this year - all three have won titles or medals at both British and Scottish level in 2025 - and is deserved reward for the hard work and dedication they have put in over the past few years, supported by coaches and parents within the club as well as the wider Scottish Cycling commuity.
This has been a particularly strong year for Scottish riders, with 6 Scots in total selected among the 20 boys and 16 girls who have been taken onto the programme.
Recent club riders who have progressed through NSR include Jamie Sweeney and Elliot Speedie, who were both on this year’s BC Olympic Development Programme (ODP).
