by Richard Levinson
2025 has been another hugely successful year for the ERC Goodson Youth Race Team on the road, with a Scottish series win, a Scottish title, numerous race wins and podiums, and an overseas victory. Here are just a few highlights of what has been a season of great racing and performances from the entire team.
Izzy Barbour (first year U16) led the way at British level, her stand-out result being a 2nd place breakaway finish in the British Circuit Series round in Wyke. She also took 5th in Stage 3 of the Isle of Man Youth Tour and had two top 10s in the North West Youth Tour to finish 22nd in the final overall British series standings. Andrew Levinson (first year U16) scored several top 10s, while Lucy Sweeney (first year U16) picked up a number of top 20s.
In Scotland, Micah Myles (first year U16) won the Scottish Circuit Series title with 2 wins (including the Ben Forsyth Trophy). Izzy was 2nd in the U16 Female category, with Andrew and Sarah McCormac (U14) both 3rd - with all three winning rounds of the series. Izzy also claimed silver in the Scottish Youth Circuit Championships.

Away from the circuits, Sarah McCormac added her name to the club’s list of Scottish Champions, winning the Scottish Youth TT Championship. Danny Farrell (first year U14) claimed silver. In the Scottish Youth Hill Climb Championships Lucy took silver, with Izzy and Hamish Mayes (U16) both winning bronze.
There was also local success, with Andrew and Lucy winning the U16 titles in the Richard Moore Youth Race series, Sarah and Micah taking 2nd place in their categories, and Kasey Park (U16) 3rd .
Finally, there was some overseas success in Belgium with Andrew winning the U17 Crit in Haasdonk with a breakaway win.
