Good Luck Stuart and Thanks!

15 May 2024

As some of you may already know, our development officer (Stuart Balfour) has moved on to Cycling Ulster.

In just over a year, Stuart has made a huge impact on the club. Last year he ran a series of race events for the Youth Section that were not only enjoyed by riders themselves but enthused parents such that eight folk volunteered to become coaches. And over the winter, he stepped into a (big) breach to be the organiser of the Gifford Road Races. Helped on his learning curve by a number of club stalwarts, he learnt about things as diverse as ‘community councils’ and ‘the BC events system’.

It’s been a delight having him help us, and while we're hugely disappointed that he’s moving on, we hope that his time with us has helped him gain the skills and experience required for an exciting new role in Ulster.

All the best, Stuart! Alastair Webb's words of encouragement for his new role are to focus on the holy trinity of Barmbrack, Veda and Wheaten.
