Q1 Do I need to be a member of ERC to Take Part?
A1 No, as part of the Scottish Cycling initiative (Women & Girls Strategy) we are looking to get as many women from all abilities to take part in this challenge.
Q2 Will the challenge cost me anything?
A2 No, it is completely free.
Q3 How do I take part?
A3 It’s simple to get involved : Ride 100km before the end of September 2025, send an email to erc100chal@gmail.com attaching proof of your ride such as screen shots from your favourite app (Garmin, Strava, Komoot) or photograph(s) of your bike computer. You will receive an email to confirm your participation and giving you the option to receive a certificate and quite possibly a very exclusive trophy!
Q4 Do I need to complete the 100K in one ride?
A4 No, you have the option to complete as a single ride, or over two rides in a 10-day window, or three rides in a 14-day window.
Q5 Do I need a fancy bike to take part in the challenge?
A5 No, you can do it on any bike. If you are splitting the challenge, then you can even use different bikes on different terrains (a road bike for one session then an MTB or gravel bike for the next).
Q6 Can I do the 100K challenge as part of another event? e.g. A Sportive, Audax, Charity ride.
A6 Yes, you can. You can do it with any of the above or with a group of friends, work colleagues, or even family.
Q7 How do I record my ride?
A7 You can use a bike computer and take a screen shot and send it in, or use Strava (other apps are available) to record your ride, or even download the Cyclemeter app to record the challenge.
Q8 Is there a group of women that I can join to get some training or help with the challenge?
A8 Yes, ERC have regular rides - check out the What’s On page. We are also running a special event to promote the challenge on the 17th August.
